X – Ray Table

The riser table pictured was needed by a vet to fit a digital xray unit underneath. It had to be rigid enough that it fully supported the animal being xrayed without bending and touching the xray unit.

It also had to be strong enough to survive being dropped and light enough to be lifted easily.

Acrylic was ruled out as glued joints are not suitable for rough handling, 9.5mm Polycarbonate with a screwed construction was chosen as it best matched the strength to weight requirements.

With screwed construction all of the holes and screws are visible from every angle so it takes a great deal of care to make it look good.
